Not sure when I finally purchased my first copy of "Out of It", I'm not even sure where I got it. However, I do remember not being jazzed about the cover art. It's still my least favorite cover. These days it's just about the art, but back then I remember being turned off by the pills. I was a much bigger prude back then as I was (am) still recovering from the trauma of the Regan era. Didn't matter if the pills were elicit or prescription, "drugs are bad, mkay?" Like antibiotics, insulin, and a few pain killers after surgery were OK, but if you needed regular medication to function then you were a lesser being to be pitied and looked down upon. In my youth, olds used to tell me that everyone got more conservative as they got older. Bullshit. The older I get, the more leftist I get.
Since Brad was on the ball, all the songs are bangers, but I think "Dropping Out of School", "Fake It", "Gasoline", and "You're Not Going Anywhere" are some of my favorites. But to be honest, the distance between best and worst is too small to measure with the naked ear.
