Jake's Fanboy Shenaniganza!

leaving by glassdoll

I don't have a favorite track because I listen to this album as a single piece; consumed whole. While every concept album is intended to be listened to in its entirety, glassdoll makes this very accessible by keeping the total runtime down to just under 9 minutes. And by letting the album and track titles tell the explicit part of the story, they have left the sound scape of this art to create a wonderful ambiance in which you can lose yourself and feel the story. The cover art, while unassuming, should not be ignored. The image is obviously a pun of the album title, but there's also more to it. With no one in frame and the darkness consuming most of the space it creates a sense of solitude. The darkness with a single source of light meagerly illuminating some of the leaves gives one a sense of wandering the dark, consistent with the rest of the presentation. And as a final little "bye", the visible leaves present as a hedge, giving nod to the Homer backing into a hedge meme.
